Should I Pop that Pimple?

After getting up in the morning your feel a tender spot on your cheek. You check it out in the mirror and see a reddened and sore area that is the start of a pimple. Although you can barely see it, you know it will be growing and reaching maturity at the most inopportune time later in the day. In other words, it will be a large whitehead ready for popping. What should you do?

Of course it is very tempting to squeeze a pimple and relieve the pressure and get rid of the blemish. Unfortunately, popping the pimple can push bacteria and pus further down into the skin, which can cause even more redness and swelling. Often a scab is your reward which can lead to scars or pitting.

So popping the whitehead is not the way to go your best option is the hardest: Patience. This way your pimple will disappear sooner rather than later, and by leaving it alone you're much less likely to have any permanent reminder it was there.

So, in other words, don't pop it, wait it out.
